CWSI Pays Courtesy Visit to the National Human Rights Commission

Centre for Women Studies and Intervention (CWSI) recently paid a courtesy visit to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) as part of its continuous efforts to strengthen collaboration with key institutions promoting and protecting human rights in Nigeria.

The visit provided an opportunity for CWSI to introduce its ongoing and new projects to the Commission, particularly those focused on the protection and promotion of the rights of vulnerable groups, including women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Discussions during the visit centered on strategic areas of partnership aimed at advancing the rights and welfare of these groups.

Both institutions exchanged ideas on strengthening advocacy, public awareness, and institutional cooperation to ensure that vulnerable populations are better protected from discrimination, violence, and social exclusion.

The engagement was highly productive, with both CWSI and the NHRC reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting human rights, gender equality, and social justice in Nigeria. CWSI looks forward to deepening collaboration with the Commission towards achieving a more inclusive and equitable society where every individual can live with dignity and equal opportunity.
