Praying for Strength and Resilience for Women

Today, we lift our prayers for women, asking for strength, resilience, and the courage to speak out and seek help.

Lord’s Prayer for Domestic and Family Violence:

Our Father in heaven,

You are a good Father, known for justice, mercy, compassion, and truth. May victims and perpetrators of domestic and family violence recognize your divine attributes.

Your kingdom come.

Bring the full resources of your kingdom to those affected by domestic and family violence. May it bring healing, equality, and hope, transcending outward appearances to touch the heart.

Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

We trust in your perfect will, seeking daily support, compassion, and wisdom. Provide the necessary sustenance to escape violent situations, and instill hope through your gospel.

Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Grant forgiveness for complicity, apathy, or involvement in domestic and family violence. Bestow grace to forgive others.

Lead us not into temptation.

Guide us away from despair and the temptation to perpetuate oppressive cultures and habits. Lead us toward respect and freedom.

And deliver us from evil.

Conquer all evil within and around us, granting freedom, healing, and protection to those in need.

Amen.

“As we light the eighth Candle today, we pray for our women to be strong and resilient, to have the courage to speak out and seek help.

  1. Prayers for Today:

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

O Great Spirit, whose voice echoes in the winds, we are your children. Be with Black (African) women experiencing domestic violence. As custodians of their countries, they face generational trauma. We pray for their strength, resilience, and the courage to seek help. May our communities address violence, providing support to both women and men. May children grow in peaceful and loving environments.

Hear our prayers, Amen. 🙏”
