Centre for Women Studies and Intervention (CWSI) announces the participation of its Executive Director, Sister Francisca Ngozi Uti, HHCJ, at the G20 Interfaith Forum – Ubuntu in Action: Focus on Vulnerable Communities, held from August 10–14, 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa. The Forum brought together global faith leaders, policymakers, and development actors to deliberate on pressing global concerns, with a strong focus on vulnerable communities.
The 2025 Forum placed Africa at the center of global dialogue, highlighting urgent issues such as financial sustainability, debt action, climate finance, food security, migration, disaster preparedness, and inclusive development. It emphasized interfaith collaboration as a driving force in addressing poverty, hunger, and inequality, in line with South Africa’s G20 agenda, the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Africa’s Agenda 2063.
A major highlight of the event was the session on “Solidarity and Interfaith in the G20 Context: Focus on Women and Youth,” moderated by Sister Francisca Ngozi Uti. In this session, she steered conversations on the critical importance of amplifying the voices of women and young people—groups that are too often marginalized in global policy processes. Her moderation emphasized the necessity of interfaith solidarity and collaboration to ensure that women and youth are not only included but are also empowered to shape solutions to the world’s most urgent challenges.
The discussions underscored that the meaningful participation of women and youth is not just an ethical responsibility but also a strategic necessity for building equitable, peaceful, and sustainable societies. Sister Francisca’s leadership in this dialogue reflected CWSI’s long-standing commitment to advancing women’s rights, empowering youth, and dismantling inequalities that hinder human flourishing.
Other sessions at the Forum addressed hunger and poverty eradication, principles of equity in global financial architecture, interreligious action in Africa, challenges of inequality, the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence, and strengthening public health systems post-COVID-19. Each session reinforced the role of faith communities as essential partners in driving global development and humanitarian strategies.
Through her active participation and moderation, Sister Francisca Ngozi Uti continues to position CWSI as a strong voice on the international stage, championing the rights and inclusion of women and youth while advancing the organization’s mission to promote justice, equity, and dignity for all.
