Centre for Women Studies and Intervention (CWSI) present the report on the Empowering Women and Youth Smallholder Farmers in the Federal Capital Territory – Groundnut Project, implemented in 2025 in Paiko Community of Gwagwalada Area Council and Bamishi Community of Kuje Area Council, Federal Capital Territory.
This intervention was designed to enhance the economic capacities of women and youth smallholder farmers by providing access to agricultural inputs, technical training, and climate-smart farming practices. Through this project, smallholder farmers gained practical skills in groundnut cultivation, post-harvest management, and market linkages, fostering improved productivity and increased income opportunities.
The report documents the key activities, outcomes, and lessons learned from the project, highlighting how targeted interventions can empower women and youth, strengthen community resilience, and contribute to food security in rural areas. By showcasing success stories and challenges overcome, the report serves as a resource for stakeholders, partners, and policymakers seeking to replicate or scale similar interventions.
CWSI remains committed to promoting climate-smart agricultural practices and sustainable development for women and youth in Nigeria, and this report reflects the tangible impact of our work on the ground.
