ABOUT US: The Centre for Women Studies and Intervention (CWSI) is a non-governmental Organization engaged in the socio-economic empowerment of women and girls in Nigeria. It is our mission to uphold the dignity of women and other vulnerable persons through capacity building, advocacy, awareness raising, research and documentation.
CWSI is calling for experienced Research Consultants to work with on her Community Action to end Child, Early and Forced Marriage and other harmful practices against Women and Girls project (CAECEFM). Child Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) is a grave violation of human rights which robs children of their childhood, education, and prospects. Jigawa State and Cross River State are two regions where CEFM continues to be a deeply ingrained issue, affecting countless young lives.
Position Overview:
As a Research Consultant on the CAECEFM project, you will have the chance to contribute to CWSI’s effort to end CEFM and other harmful practices that perpetuates violence against women and girls. Your work will directly influence policy decisions, empower communities, and ultimately create a brighter future for vulnerable children. Here is what your role will entail:
In-Depth Research: You will conduct comprehensive research to understand the underlying root causes, prevalence, and trends of CEFM in Jigawa and Cross River States. You will also conduct comprehensive research into current interventions in ending CEFM and proffer strategies most effective in tackling CEFM from findings.
Policy Recommendations: Your research will inform evidence-based policy recommendations that can help change the trajectory for children at risk of CEFM, promoting legal and societal changes.
QUALIFICATION:
We are seeking a dedicated research Consultant who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in data analysis and management, social science, law, project management or any related field to this call.
Experience in contextual analysis of Nigeria, child rights, gender studies and social work
A strong commitment to delivering timely and high-quality data for publication and dissemination.
Strong research and analytical skills, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Track record of conducted studies, research, publication, and references
Strong Precision skills and previous experience in research projects either through academic work, project research or policy research.
