From 2002-2008, CWSI organized human rights training for women religious at various locations including Uyo, Akwa-Ibom, Calabar, Owerri, Onitsha, Kaduna, Jos, Lagos, Benin, Abuja, Ekiti, and Ibadan, Nigeria. Supported by organizations such as Catholics for a Free Choice, Missio, Women’s World Day of Prayer, and the German Committee, these workshops had the following objectives:

• To enlighten and conscientize women religious on their basic human rights.
• To address gender bias and human rights violations, providing strategies to defend their rights.
• To equip the women religious with the necessary tools to educate both men and women in their communities on the need for full and equal participation in civil, cultural, and political life at all levels.
