CWSI, with funding support from the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD), is implementing a pilot project titled “Empowering Women and Youth Smallholder Farmers in the Groundnut Market System in the FCT.” The project commenced in May 2024 and is aimed at improving the livelihoods and economic resilience of women and youth groundnut farmers in Paiko Community of Kuje Area Council and Bamishi Community in Gwagwalada Area Council.

The project’s primary objectives are to empower groundnut farmers by providing essential agricultural produce and equipment, acquaint them with sustainable agricultural practices through comprehensive training programs, and create market linkages to enhance their economic resilience.
