CWSI Presents Start-Up kits to Women and Girls with Disabilities

What Better Way to Close Our Disability Inclusion Project?

Centre for Women Studies and Intervention (CWSI) organized a formal ceremony to present start-up kits to beneficiaries of vocational skills training under the project titled “Action to Promote Disability Inclusion in the Campaign to End Violence and Discrimination Against Women and Girls.” This initiative was generously funded by the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD).

Over the course of one year, the project significantly enhanced awareness of disability rights and increased knowledge on how to report cases of violence and discrimination to both local and national authorities. Furthermore, it economically empowered women and girls with disabilities by equipping them with vocational skills, culminating in the presentation of start-up kits to support their entrepreneurial journey.

The project was implemented in partnership with the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) and benefitted from the technical expertise of Christian Blind Mission (CBM Global).

We are not merely closing this project or sending the beneficiaries out into the world without support; rather, we have empowered them with the knowledge and tools necessary to build sustainable livelihoods and to continue advocating for their fundamental human rights.

CWSI expresses profound gratitude to CAFOD and CBM Global for their unwavering support, and to all project stakeholders for their invaluable contributions and commitment throughout the project cycle. We continue to envision—and work towards—a future where disability inclusion becomes a foundational pillar in all development efforts.
