PURPOSE: The Centre for Women Studies and Intervention (CWSI) seeks to recruit a project officer to support the implementation of the Community Action to Ending CEFM and Other Harmful Practices Against Women and Girls project in Jigawa State.
The Project officer shall provide support and directly report to the lead project implementation team consistent with CWSI’s regulations and safeguarding policies. She/he shall contribute to the project’s financial management, and program delivery including providing necessary operational, administrative, and programmatic support in Jigawa State. She/he shall establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and strategic alliances with counterparts in government, MDAs, prospective stakeholders in the private sector and civil society organizations as well as community-based organizations to facilitate successful delivery of the program
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Degree in Law, Sociology, Gender, International Development, or related
discipline
Experience:
- Substantive knowledge and practical experience in GEWE (Gender equality and Women’s empowerment), Human rights-based and Children’s rights program interventions.
- A strong commitment to delivering timely and high-quality results in the program delivery and implementation in line with CWSI’s Safeguarding policy.
- A strong team leadership and management track record, as well as interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate interaction with project actors, stakeholders and
target beneficiaries. - In-depth knowledge of rural and urban terrains in Jigawa State, Nigeria
- Language proficiency: fluency in oral and written English is mandatory; good command of local language is necessary to facilitate stakeholder engagement and foster partnerships at the community and state level.
