ABOUT US: The Centre for Women Studies and Intervention (CWSI) is a non-governmental Organization engaged in the socio-economic empowerment of women and girls in Nigeria. It is our mission to uphold the dignity of women and other vulnerable persons through capacity building, advocacy, awareness raising, research and documentation.

CWSI is seeking to engage a qualified and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist for a part-time consultancy on a project title; “Communities Mobilizing to Stop Gender-Based Violence and Human Trafficking (GBV-HT) Phase II”.

 

Position Overview

The M&E Expert will play a crucial role in the Monitoring and Evaluation of a 3-year project aimed at Promoting the change in customary laws to ensure the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) and human trafficking.

The project will be implemented in Ikom LGA, Obudu LGA, and Ukelle South in Yala LGA.

Key Responsibilities:

The M&E Expert will be responsible for:

  1. Baseline Survey/Data Gathering:
  • Design and conduct a comprehensive baseline survey to establish benchmarks for project indicators.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data to provide insights into the initial conditions and needs of the target beneficiaries.
  1. Mid-Term Assessment/Data Gathering:
    • Conduct a mid-term evaluation to assess the progress of the project against the set objectives.
    • Provide actionable recommendations to guide project adjustments and improvements.
    • Ensure data quality and integrity through regular monitoring and verification.
  1. Endline Evaluation:
  • Design and conduct an endline evaluation to measure the impact, Relevance, Efficiency, Effectiveness, and outcomes of the project.
  • Analyze data to assess the achievement of project objectives and overall project effectiveness.
  • Prepare a comprehensive evaluation report with key findings and lessons learned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in M&E, preferably in Gender equality and Women’s empowerment, Human Rights, Public health, and social protection.
  • Proven experience in designing and conducting baseline surveys, mid-term assessments, and endline evaluations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, Excel).
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
