Empowerment Vanguard Award: Recognizing CWSI’s Exceptional Impact in Halting GBV-HT and Championing Women’s Development in Cross-River State.

As a result of the success of the project  titled, ‘Communities mobilizing to stop Gender-Based Violence and Human Trafficking (GBV-HT)’ funded by Development and Peace Canada CWSI received recognition from two traditional leaders for transforming communities, empowering women and girls, and addressing prevalent issues of Gender-Based Violence and Human Trafficking in Cross-River state. The Paramount ruler of Bekwarra LGA honored CWSI with the title “UKPERE ENYIYE OF BEKWARRA KINGDOM,” meaning “THE SALVAGER OF WOMEN.” Similarly, in the ATEVAW project, the King of Ekajuk Kingdom bestowed a title on CWSI project staff as the ‘MOKU ASAGIRE 1 OF EKAJUK KINGDOM,’ signifying “THE NUMBER ONE CHAMPION OF WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT.” These titles were awarded in appreciation of the impactful work undertaken by CWSI in these communities.
